Velosport Elite Cycling is thankful for exercise technology and the rise in the number of fitness clubs in the last decade. If it weren’t for these two things, Charon Smith may never have discovered cycling.
Six years ago, Charon – always being one to take care of his body – decided to take a Spin class at his local gym. He found it to be a great workout and fun at the same time. He was back in the spin class later that week. Realizing that it might be even more fun to get the same workout while seeing the beautiful scenery Southern California has to offer, Charon hit the road.
Fast forward six years, and you have Charon where he is today: One of the most feared sprinters in domestic peloton. Riders that beat Charon in a sprint mark the day on their calendar. Unfortunately for then, that day doesn’t come around too often. Charon has the traits all great sprinters possess. He is fearless, can read a race finale flawlessly, and has an excess of fast twitch muscle fibers. His power carried him to multiple victories in 2007, as well as winning the season long El Dorado Park Criterium Series.
Charon’s power and strength are a great asset to Velosport Elite Cycling. His charisma and friendliness are a great asset to the racing community. Charon is a great ambassador for Velosport, our sponsors, and the entire cycling community.
